Die casting in Norway. The part does not travel between suppliers.

Most foundries hand over a raw casting. We cast the bracket, heat treat it, machine the mounting points and blast it. The only link that happens outside the building is anodising and painting.

The connection

Why the chain matters

A cast bracket that needs tapping normally travels like this: the foundry casts, packs and ships. The machine shop receives, unpacks, fixtures, machines, packs and ships. The finisher receives, blasts or paints, packs and ships. Three suppliers, three packing operations, three transports, three invoices — and three places to start looking when a dimension falls out of tolerance.

Here, that same bracket goes from casting machine to degating to CNC to blast cabinet without leaving the building. That means shorter lead time, fewer interfaces and one point of accountability.

It is also why we do not sell the services below as detached units. They are links in a chain, and the value is in the assembly.

Aluminium die casting

Thin walls, complex geometry and seconds per shot — in recycled aluminium. The process behind most of our parts.

Gravity die casting

Lower tooling cost, smaller series — and the only route to heat treated strength.

CNC machining

Machining of castings in the same building as the foundry. More than 30 years of experience, programmed in Fusion 360.

Heat treatment

Where the strength comes from, when casting alone is not enough. Applies to gravity cast aluminium parts.

Blasting here. Anodising and painting at established subcontractors — and we tell you where the line runs.

The process

How they connect

Ten steps from drawing to packed part. Not every part passes through every step — which apply to yours is settled in the design review.

  1. 01

    Drawing in and castability review

    You send a drawing, a STEP file or a sketch. We work through whether the part can be cast as drawn — and what should change.

  2. 02

    Tooling

    The die is procured through our preferred toolmakers, designed and gated for our machines. You own the finished tool.

  3. 03

    Raw material in

    Aluminium and zinc arrive as ingot from established suppliers. The aluminium is secondary metal — remelted, not newly extracted.

  4. 04

    Melting

    The metal is melted in a furnace. Aluminium melts at 660 °C and is cast at 680–700 °C. Zinc melts at around 385 °C.

  5. 05

    Casting

    The melt fills the steel die — under high pressure in die casting, under its own weight in gravity casting. The part freezes in seconds.

  6. 06

    Ejection and degating

    The part is pushed out of the die by ejector pins. Runner, overflows and flash are removed.

  7. 07

    Heat treatment

    Gravity cast aluminium parts that need more strength are heat treated. Pressure die cast parts normally are not.

  8. 08

    Machining

    Faces and holes needing tighter tolerances than casting delivers are milled, turned, drilled and tapped. On our own machines, fifty metres from the casting machine.

  9. 09

    Surface finishing

    Blasting we do ourselves. Anodising and powder coating go to established subcontractors.

  10. 10

    Inspection and dispatch

    Parts are inspected and packed. This is the step we have documented worst, and we will own that.

Scope

And this we do not do

Knowing what a supplier cannot do is as useful as knowing what he can. It saves you a week on an enquiry that was never going anywhere.

  • Sand casting. We do not have it. Large, heavy structural parts in sand are a different trade with different equipment.
  • Toolmaking as a service. We buy and maintain dies; we do not make them.
  • Anodising and powder coating in house. That link goes to established subcontractors.
  • One-offs without tooling. Our model assumes a series. For a single part, additive manufacturing or machining from solid is the right answer.
  • Products of our own. We have no brand and no product portfolio. Everything we make was drawn by a customer.
  • Metals other than aluminium and zinc. No steel, no brass, no bronze.
