Qualification

Everything you need to assess us, in one place

Machines, alloys, tolerances, part sizes, series and quality. Where the figure is documented, it is here. Where it is not, it says “Available on request” — which does not mean we are withholding it, but that we do not publish figures we have not verified.

Background

Why this page exists

A designer sitting with a drawing needs six figures to decide whether a supplier is relevant: how big the part can be, how much it can weigh, which alloys are run, which tolerance is held, how small the series can be, and how long the lead time is.

If he does not have them, he moves on to the next supplier. He does not call to ask — he has four other names on the list.

We have been casting for eighty years and machining for thirty, but we have never written down what we can actually deliver. We are fixing that here, and in two stages: first we publish everything that is documented, then we fill in the rest as the figures are verified against our machines.

That makes the pages below a little unusual to look at. Some fields carry a number. Others say “Available on request”. We could have written “a high degree of accuracy and repeatability” instead, the way almost everyone does. But that does not help you decide anything.

Six groups

Where to find what

Machines

What stands on the floor, and what limits it sets. Clamping force, work envelope, number of machines.

Alloys

Aluminium and zinc with material data from the standards — and what separates them where it matters.

Tolerances and measurement

What holds as cast, what has to be machined, and how it is verified.

Part sizes

How big, how heavy and how thin a part can be — and why the limit differs in zinc and aluminium.

Series and lead time

How many parts it takes, and how long it takes. An answer to your enquiry within 24 hours.

Quality

What we have, what we do not have, and what we are working on. Written for the buyer filling in a supplier questionnaire.
