Choosing a defence components supplier in Norway
What a defence components supplier in Norway has to be able to document, and which cast parts are relevant. This page describes requirements rather than references, and qualifications are clarified per project.

Why casting
Brackets, housings and fittings with complex geometry in small and medium series are typical castings. When the customer owns the tool and it sits with a Norwegian supplier, it is easier to keep track of where and how the part is made.
Which parts are relevant
Brackets and mounts for equipment installation, housings and enclosures for portable and vehicle-mounted electronics, fittings for carrying systems and parts for ground support equipment. Typically small to medium series in aluminium or zinc, often with a long service life and a need for spare parts over many years.
What a defence supplier has to be able to document
Traceability. It is not enough for the part to be correct. It has to be documented which melt it came from, which tool it was cast in, which batch it belonged to and who inspected it.
Origin. Many buyers require a European or national supply chain, with every sub-supplier known and mapped.
Change control. Once the part is approved, neither geometry, alloy nor process may change without notice and fresh approval. That is more a discipline than a technology.
Confidentiality. The geometry itself can be sensitive. We anonymise every product example on this site and do not share customer drawings with anyone.
Quality system and security. Many buyers require a certified quality system, security clearance or supplier approval before a supplier is considered at all. Which requirements apply varies from project to project.
How we handle an enquiry like this
We cast and machine in Råde, and anodising and powder coating are done by sub-suppliers we coordinate. The customer owns the casting tool. We have published a code of conduct with requirements for our own supply chain and a reference to the ILO. We fall below the thresholds of the Norwegian Transparency Act but set requirements for our suppliers anyway.
